Born Greg Watkins in Detroit, MI, G-3’s artistic roots run deep in the city’s legacy of Black excellence, but his sound carries the imprint of every place he's called home. From Detroit’s soulful grit to the influence of the South and West Coasts, his music blends cinematic storytelling with raw emotion. A graduate of the Los Angeles Recording School with a degree in Recording Arts, he merges technical mastery with an immersive, novelistic approach to songwriting. His work is a reflection of his love for film, literature, and theater, elements that breathe life into his music like scenes from a screenplay.
Over time, G-3’s milestones have only reinforced his place as a force in hip-hop and beyond. In 2014, his single "Caramel Mocha" was hand-selected by Quincy Jones for Fresh Cuts, Vol. 10, a legendary compilation with Guitar Center. In 2017, he stepped into a dream moment, performing alongside Nas at Atlanta’s A3C Festival—a full-circle moment for an artist shaped by the storytelling greats. Now, as the creative force behind PVBB DETROIT LLC, G-3 is curating the intersection of music, fashion, and culture, writing his next chapter with the same precision and passion that define his art.
